Bye Bye Baby Bump

After baby arrives, it can take a few days, even a few weeks to settle in to your new way of mom life. When Harley was around three weeks old and we had established ourselves in to some sort of a routine, it finally hit me that my bump was gone. Although I haven't shifted the inevitable baby pouch just yet (she is eight weeks old at the moment and let's face it, it was Easter last week), it suddenly hit me that I no longer had my giant watermelon baby bump.

It's a strange feeling. You're so in love with your new arrival, and so happy hat they are here and healthy, but I can't help but miss her little kicks inside of me.

By now I'm happily getting a hold of things and everything has gently clicked in to place. I am starting to know her hungry cries from her sad cries, her happy smiles from her 'I just pooped and it's all up my back' smiles and I have finally mastered the art of doing the household jobs with one hand. Just a heads up, babies have impeccable timing. Harley has a super power of knowing exactly when to wake up just as my dinner is ready. I suppose cold dinners aren't such a bad thing as long as she is happy.

It's all a learning curve and we are learning together every day. We'll get there one day. After all, nobody is perfect.

All Black Everything

When someone is talking about a wardrobe staple, you can presume they are talking about a good leather jacket! I am a firm believer that the more worn a leather looks, the better.
This River Island beauty was a present from my brother when I turned an innocent eighteen and I have honestly not stopped wearing it since (we won't mention that being over six years ago.... Sigh!).

I thought I needed a bit of colour with this outfit, so I added a black Fedora and black accessories.... Can you tell what my favourite colour is?

Here Today, Tartan Tomorrow

Today's essentials are a black and gold type of affair, and tartan, tartan is always welcome in my book... and my hair!

Secret Surroundings

Yesterday, me and Berto went for a nice walk in the crisp, cold weather here in Dublin. A little secret walk in the suburbs of the city was just what we needed to get some fresh air and out of the house for a while. Sometimes it's nice to get out of the city and the hustle and bustle of the Christmas rush and appreciate your secret surroundings. A perfect afternoon.

A Christmas Tale

Yes! We are home. We surprised our families and arrived on their doorsteps to everyone's astonishment. Trying to adjust back to Irish weather, not sure I'm ready to commit.

One thing I could not go without this year was decorating the Christmas tree. I do it every year in my family and couldn't break the tradition. It was also giving me major anxiety, thinking of all the decorations going in the wrong places, I know, OCD issues hehe. Here are some of my favourite decorations on our tree.

Hope you all have an amazing Christmas and get all the goodies your asking from Santa

Stripped Down

Sometimes things just need to be stripped down. I am IN LOVE with the new camera mode on the ios7!! Black and white photos are my all time favourite way to capture moments and memories in a classic and timeless way.

This past Saturday evening was my going away party for myself and my boyfriend. We are heading to south east Asia on the adventure of a lifetime and had a small party for all our close friends to say our last goodbyes.
Ever since I saw these stunning gold barrel rings in H&M I could not stop thinking about them and now they are mine!! Some people like to wear a ring on each finger but I just love this layered look for something a bit different.
The bracelet is also a H&M purchase, however it is a necklace that I just wrapped around my wrist to create a bunched effect.
I also got my nails done that morning in 5th Avenue, Wicklow Street with a crisp white polish. I usually would get acrylic nails done but going away I thought just a file and polish will be perfect so I can change up the colours when I'm sitting on an exotic beach.

Starting to get really excited now!! Jx
